Guangzhou Opera House Children's Chorus
Guangzhou Opera House Children's Chorus, founded in 2013, is a performance group oriented by training chorus art talents which was created by Guangzhou Opera House. It is an art group that integrates chorus art training and opera stage performance. As the first children’s chorus directly affiliated to the domestic opera house，Guangzhou Opera House Children’s Chorus had introduced the innovative teaching mode—--Course × Stage. In addition to focusing on vocal practice, the daily training is in combination with the needs of opera performance, emphasizing the cultivation of role performance ability and the training of opera multilingual ability. At the same time, relying on the platform advantages of GOH, the Guangzhou Opera House Children’s Chorus provides opportunities for the members to communicate with international performing teams face to face.
The Conductor
Su Yanhui, professor of School of Music of South China Normal University in chorus conductor, master degree supervisor, outstanding teacher of South Guangdong，is currently executive director of China Chorus Association, deputy director Chinese Universities Chorus Committee，and vice president of Guangdong Chorus Association. Having been teaching music for more than 20 years, Su been committed to school chorus music education. The chorus that conducted by Su have won more than 60 professional competitions at home and abroad, so the National Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Education awarded Su the title of Outstanding Conductor as well as Outstanding Instructor respectively. Su Yanhui has visited France, Germany, Austria, the United States and other countries many times for cultural exchanges. She is currently the Artistic Director and Permanent Conductor of the Chorus of South China Normal University and the Guangzhou Opera House Children’s Chorus.
